Increase in BSNL subscriber bases in September 2010

The new report released by Cellular Operators Association of India revealed that the number of GSM subscribers has become 494 million against 481 million in August 2010. During the month of September, BSNL ranked first with a growth rate of 3.32 percent, adding 2.3 million subscribers. Now the subscriber base stands at 72.6 million.

Idea cellular stands at second position with subscriber base of 74.2 million. It managed to add 2.02 million subscribers.

The leading telecom provider is Airtel with a subscriber base of 143 million. It managed to add 2 million customers with the growth rate of 1.44 percent.
